All of our stones are Soft Arkansas Whetstones (medium) which are the most popular. These stones are most commonly used for sharpening knives and cutting tools.
They are the natural stone colors mined from the quarry in the Ouachita Mountains of Central Arkansas. These colors may vary from white/ black to pink/gray or a combination of these.

Genuine Arkansas stones are classified as Novaculite which is extremely hard and fine-grained rock containing almost pure silica.

Each grade is based on the gravity or density of the mineral and not the “grit”.
 

We pack our stones in a custom hand crafted STAMPED Cedar wood box made from Eastern Red Aromatic Cedar.

About the Cedar Box:

• MADE IN U.S.A. All 100% Eastern Red Aromatic cedar.

• The outside of the box is finished first with a sealer, then 2 coats of lacquer to bring out the wood’s natural finish.

• The inside of the box is sanded but left unfinished to assure a fresh cedar scent.

• The sharpening stone box has 2 brass plated clasps on each end.
